    1893/1900: Receiving Authority Specimens. The range on four pieces of album page with 1884 6 d. purple, 1893 ½ d. green, 1893 ½ d., 2 d. chocolate 2½ d. ultramarine, 3 d., 4 d. sage, 1 s. blue-green, 1 s. ochre and 5 s. brown-orange and 1896 1 d. carmine, each individually handstamped “SPECIMEN.” in black (Samuel type D1) upon receipt by the British Post Office from the Cape.
