    1864/77: 1 d. carmine-red in a horizontal pair and single 6 d. lilac used on delightful 1880 hand illustrated envelope with complete contents showing coloured portrait of Warrior "Light Infantry / Kaffraria" to Cognac, France, tied by Cape Town / Cape Colony' numeral "1" obliterators (Sept 21); with the 1 d. pair impaled on end of the spear and the 6 d. applied on the shield. Split rate '2½ d.' handstamp in red on front and reverse with London transit (Oct 12) and arrival. Delightful cover with equally interesting contents showing Scots piper and the musical score for "Hot Punch" and part message 'I being the only employee in the firm having any pretensions to stamp collecting..'.
