    Provisional Issue 1861 (March): Woodblock 4 d. pale bright blue on laid paper, a fine used example with good to large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at base, used on 1861 cover addressed to Sir Baldwin Wake Walker in Simons Town, tied by CGH obliterator in black. Reverse with oval framed CAPE TOWN despatch datestamp (May 3) in red alongside embossed seal of 'His Excellency the Governor Cape of Good Hope'. Rare and very fine, a delightful cover. Cert. BPA (2018).rnrnNote: Sir Baldwin Wake Walker (1802-1876) had a spectacular Naval career, at this date he was Commander-in-Chief, Cape of Good Hope & West Africa Station.
