    1855/63: 6 d. deep slate-lilac on blued paper, the outstanding cover from Gilbert Farie in Bloemfontein to Ruthuglen, Glasgow, with manuscript "6" in red to denote the 6 d. for payment from the Orange Free State to the Cape, franked by four margin pair in this scarce shade, lightly cancelled by faint Grahamstown roller handstamp, with obverse showing 'Cape Town / Cape Colony' circular datestamp in black (Aug 19) and PAID / DEVONPORT / CAPE PACKET cds in red (Sep 24). Reverse with Glasgow arrival (Sept 26)in black. Minor staining to envelope well away from the fine adhesives. A rare cover. Cert.
