    1855/63: 6 d. deep rose-lilac, a fine used pair with large margins all round in a fine rich shade, used on 1866 cover to Bebington, Cheshire tied by superb impression of the numeral '1' obliterator with CAPE TOWN / CAPE COLONY datestamp alongside (June 21) in black. Circular PAID / DEVONPORT / CAPE PACKET in red alongside (Aug 16) and Birkenhead arrival cds on reverse.
