    Used Abroad 1856 (Oct 11): Entire letter from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to New York, struck on despatch with double arc cds on reverse, prepaid 1 shilling in red manuscript and struck with "Crown / PAID / AT / SAN JUAN PORTO RICO" in black. Mailed via St. Thomas with British P.O. cds in black (Oct 15) with 'Steamship /10' applied upon arrival in New York, with internal docketing of receipt (Oct 29). Scarce Gi CC1 = £ 650.
