    French Levant 1862: 10 c. bistre - 51 examples used on 1864 Levant Line cover from Constantinople to Aix, Bouches du Rhône, with 40 c. orange - 17 examples - paying a 11 franc 90 centime rate and probably just one single 10 c. bistre missing, all cancelled by dotted Anchor lozenge and one 10 c. cancelled by pen cross; with PELUSE Paquebot datestamp (March 3) in black (Salles fig. 810) with two strikes of framed PD alongside and framed PAQUEBOTS / DE LA / MEDITERRANEE in red. Reverse with part flap missing but with Marseille entry cds (March 9) and Aix-en-Provence arrival cds (March 10). Despite myriad faults a truly astonishing French Levant Maritime franking.
