    1891: De La Rue Appendix sheet 'A' dated 'April 9th, 1891' at top, with six numbered cut-down Die Proofs in black on glazed white card, each with different "2½d." value tablet hand-painted in black on Chinese white, each initialled in red below each Proof. De La Rue wished to proceed with design number 5 on the Appendix sheet, the Agent-General to whom the Essays were submitted chose number 3 for the 2½ d. sage-green of June 1892.
