    1871/76: 1 d. carmine-red, fifteen examples used to pay 1/3 d. single rate 1880 on cover from Amalienstein to the Berlin Missionarty Society, Berlin endorsed 'With the first Mail Steamer' tied by late use of the triangular CGH obliterators in black (customary from this town, formerly Zoar). Reverse with framed oval PORT ELIZABETH transit datestamp (Dec 27) in black, 'Cape Town / Cape Colony' cds, London cds in red (Jan 25, 1881) and Berlin arrival.
