    1855/63: 1 s. deep dark green on white paper, a used example with large margins and imperceptibly touched at base, tied to 1863 cover to Newport, UK tied by CGH obliterator in black. 'London / Paid' datestamp adjacent (Jan 25, 1864) in red and '11' rate credit in red crayon manuscript. Reverse with oval framed KING-WILLIAMS-TOWN datestamp in red (Dec 14), circular CAPE TOWN / CAPE OF GOOD HOPE datestamp in red (Dec 21) and 'Newport / Salop' arrival (Jan 25) in black. Closed tear runs through address panel but an attractive cover.
