    Recess by Henri Gillet from Perkins Bacon Plates 1854 (April): 5 c. Burnt Siena, a horizontal strip of four with huge margins at left and at base, shaved at right and large if irregular at top, used on 1855 cover from Santiago to Valparaiso tied by target handstamps in black with TALCA despatch cds below (May 18). Circular "20" centavos due marking in red at right with manuscript "20" in ink adjacent (initially charged '10' and altered), thus originally underpaid by 10 centavos.
