    1847: 5 c. red brown with full to large margins, dark shade (some soiling), tied by red square grid cancel, used with Local issue 1845 Boyd’s City Express, New York N.Y. 2 c. black on green (two tiny marginal tears), tied by matching “NEW-YORK FEB 15” circular datestamp, good to huge margins all round, on small cover to Albany N.Y., archival fold which does not affect the adhesives. The addressee James Dexter (1795-1867), was admitted to the bar by the New York supreme court and was one of Albany's leading practitioners. A beautiful combination cover, cert. P.F. (2018).
