    1849: Cérès 20 c. black, good margins on three sides, touched at top, tied in the First Month of Issue by pen cross and "TANNAY 17 JANV. 49"  cds (Type 15) to envelope to Clamecy, reverse with arrival cds (Jan 17). An attractive and unusual late usage of this provisional cancellation, as the grill obliterator was introduced as standard cancellation device in all Post Offices by January 15, 1849.
