    French Post Offices 1862: Single rate cover from Galatz to Athens, Greece franked by 1853 10 c. bistre brown and 40 c. orange, clear to large margins but 40 c. crossed by file fold, tied by "5083" gros chiffres in black with framed PD in red and framed MER NOIRE in black alongside. Reverse with corresponding French P.O. in Constantinople cds (Oct 14) and Piraeus and Athens datestamps. A scarce usage. Cert. Behr (1999).
