    Peninsular War 1812 (May 22): Entire letter written by the Duke of Albufuera (Marshall Suchet) from Valencia to General Callier in Turin and readdressed to Genoa and then Chiavari, struck on despatch with superb 'No. 3 / BAU. PRINCIPAL / ARM. D'ESPAGNE' in black (Reinhardt = 400 pts). The letter disinfected against Cholera by slitting and toasting. Reverse with deboursé markings 'DBSE DE TURIN' in red and 'Deboursé / GÊNES' in black. A fine and scarce entire, Suchet had seized Valencia in January 1812.
