    Competition Essays 1903: Essays (5, three in vertical format, two horizontal) all inscribed "Commonwealth of Australia" with proposed 2 d. value with Coats of Arms vignette inscribed 'Western Australia', 2 d. value with six pointed star vignette inscribed 'Tasmania', 2½ d. value with Map of Australia vignette inscribed 'New South Wales', 2½ d. value with Crown and Coats of Arms inscribed 'New South Wales', 2½ d. value with Coats of Arms and Map of Australia inscribed Queensland; each are hand-painted on small card in black, grey and Chinese white. An extraordinary group.
