    1881: De La Rue Essay for the Internal Revenue issue, handpainted in mauve on tracing paper, 76 x 79 mm., with WESTERN AUSTRALIA in mauve and INTERNAL REVENUE and frame and embellishments around frame all picked out in Chinese white, perforations in pencil, alongside four proposed value tablets for 1 d., 2 d., 3 d. and 6 d. at left, marked 'A' and dated at top 'June 8th/81'. Illustrated in the 'De La Rue Collection' edited by Frank Walton RDP on plate 9123. Beautiful and of great rarity.
