    Stamp Duty 1879: Die / Plate Proof for 6 s. value in black on cream wove paper, 27 x 32 mm., engraved by Arthur Williams of Sands & MacDougall, typographed at the Victorian Stamp Printer's. Near finished State of the Die with letters 'J' and 'L' inserted above figures '6' at each side (but with damaged 'D' in 'Duty' which was repaired), these letters standing for Charles Jackson and Ludwig Lang who designed much of the 1879 Stamp Duty series.
