Pictorial Issue 1899: De La Rue Die Proof for the 2 d. value, with photographic frame and inset vignette engraved in deep violet, with manuscript at upper right 'May 24th, 99' and handstamped '5 JUN 99' in green. Extremely rare Proof, two examples were made, one for approval submitted to the Crown Agents for the Colonies (this example), and the second retained by De La Rue for their records.
