    1891 (June 18): De La Rue hand-painted Essay for the proposed 2½ d. design in lilac-purple and carmine-rose on tracing paper, 66 x 72 mm., marked 'A' and dated 'June 18th 91' at top, with TASMANIA and value "2½d." picked out in Chinese white. This Essay is illustrated in the 'De La Rue Collection' edited by Frank Walton RDP on plate 7909. A beautiful, charming and very rare Essay, unique.
