    1850 (Jan 1): 3 d. myrtle green, on soft yellowish wove paper, a superb used example, position 5 on the sheet, with huge regular margins all round, tied to 1850 cover to Hobart, Tasmania by bold strike of the Sydney mute obliterator in black. Oval 'Paid Ship Letter / Crown / Sydney' datestamp at left (April 13) in red and manuscript '4' (pence) for Ship fee. Reverse with framed SHIP LETTER (April 21) arrival in black. Tiny tear at top of cover well away from adhesive but a charming and very fine cover. Cert. BPA (1981).
