    Ballon Monté No. 53 1870 (Dec 30): Entire letter to Blidah, Algeria endorsed 'Par Ballon Monté', franked by Siège 1870 20 c. blue, tied by "241" gros chiffres of Auteil with 'Paris / Auteil' datestamp (Dec 30, 4th levée) alongside in black. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "L' Armée-De-La-Loire" with Blidah arrival cds (Jan 9, 1871) on reverse. A very scarce destination and a most attractive entire. Cert.
