    Ballon Monté No. 53 1870: Entire written to Brussels, franked by 1867 Napoleon laureated 30 c. brown, tied by Paris Star '14' with "PARIS R. DE STRASBOURG 30 DEC. 70" despatch cds and framed "P.D." in black alongside, reverse with "JOSSE-TEN-NOODE 4 JANV 71 8M" transit cds and Bruxelles arrival cds (Jan 4). This item was flown from besieged Paris on the 53rd Ballon 'Armée de la Loire'. Maury = € 700.
