    Ballon Monté No. 9 or 10 1870 (Oct 9): Entire letter to Sens, Yonne endorsed 'par Ballon Monté', franked by 1863/67 20 c. blue, tied by Paris Star with 'Paris / 60' datestamp (Oct 9, 3rd levée) alongside in black. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "Le Washington" (probable) or "Louis Blanc" with 'Sens-Yonne' arrival cds (Oct 16) on reverse. An very attractive small entire Maury = € 400.
