    Ballon Monté No. 8 1870 (Oct 2): Postcard to Agen, franked by 1863/67 10 c. bistre tied by Paris Star 1 with 'Paris / Pl. de la Bourse' datestamp (Oct 2, 3rd levée) alongside in black. Flown from beseiged Paris on the Ballon "Le Nom-Dénommé No. 2" with Agen arrival cds at left (Oct 22). Water faults commensurate with the landing of this Ballon - some of the mail sacks were left in the water where they landed due to the proximity of the Prussian troops. Scarce Maury = € 500+.
