    1853: 1 d. brick-red on blued pair and single 4 d. blue on lightly blued paper, used on 1857 cover to Holloway, London endorsed 'per U. M. Ship 'Dane' Paid' at upper left, tied by CGH triangular handstamps in black. The adhesives with clear to large margins all round, the cover neatly backstamped 'CAPE TOWN / CAPE OF GOOD HOPE' (Nov 30) in red, 'CAPE PACKET / DEVONPORT' (Jan 7, 1858) in black and with red London arrival cds. A splendid, rare and most attractive cover.rnrnNote: Carried on the first Union Mail Ship, the 'Dane' under Captain Strutt. This cover was carried on the 'Dane's' maiden return voyage.
