    1870/71: Siège 10 c. bistre, a horizontal tête-bêche pair used on 1871 cover in combination with 1863/71 Napoleon lauré 1 c. bronze in a hor. strip of five for the newly introduced (Sept 1) 25 c. letter rate, tied by '2047' gros chiffres to folded letter with "LILLEBONNE 10 SEPT. 71" cds alongside, sent to Le Mans, reverse with arrival cds (Sept 11). Cover refolded and address erased, one 10 c. and one 1 c. with corner faults, a scarce and most unusual franking. Cert. Roumet (2014) Maury = € 7'500+/Yvert = € 9'000+.
