    1853: Napoleon III 1 fr. carmine, a superb example with fresh colour and enormous margins, tied by Gros point obliterator to cover with light "PARIS 14 MAI 54" cds and framed PD in red alongside, sent to Torino with arrival cds on reverse (May 17). Cover tear, but an interesting usage of this splendid stamp on a second weight rate item sent over land from France to Sardinia. Signed Calves and A. Diena; cert.
