Second Rouletted Issue 1860/69: Plate Proof for the 2 s. value in dull claret / mauve, imperforate on thick white wove paper, fresh and very fine. Very scarce in this colour - it is interesting to note that the Robson Lowe Encyclopaedia catalogued the 4 d Plate Proof in black at £ 1, the 2 s. in black at £ 3 each and the mauve example offered here at £ 10.
