    1863/70: Covers (2) each at 80 c. single rate to Canada, the earlier 1868 cover with laureated 80 c. carmine used from Chalons Sur Marne (Nov 2) to Montreal tied by 844 gros chiffres, carried on the Allan Line Steamer 'Austrian' with arrival on reverse (Nov 17); together with 1869 cover front and part back, from Paris (Aug 25) to Ottawa franked by laureated 40 c. orange (2) tied by Paris Star '15' carried on the Allan Line Steamer 'Moravian' with part arrival (Sept 6). Faults to each but a surprisingly scarce destination.
