    1852: Entire letter endorsed 'voie de Mer' bearing 1849 Cérès 40 c. orange in a horizontal strip of three, margin just touched at base of first stamp but with huge margins on three sides and portions of adjoining stamps at top and at right, cancelled by 'grille sans fin' in black with Paris despatch cds (Sept 28) in black below. Framed 'PD' in red and crossed in red ink to denote prepayment, reverse with Florence arrival (Oct 2) in black.
