    Mail to the U.S.A. 1871: Cover and complete original contents from Athens to New York, franked at 100 lepta rate by 1862/67 20 l. blue and 80 l. carmine, both with large margins all round, tied by dotted '1' numeral of Athens. Red framed PD at left with Athens cds of despatch (May 29). The cover then travelled via Triest and Prussia (framed 'Franco' applied in red), to New York where struck with 'New York Paid All' in red with manuscript crayon '15' (cents) credit to the USA. File fold but a delightful and scarce Transatlantic usage. Illustrated in 'Les Tarifs Helléniques' on page 67.
