    Mail via Italy to Switzerland 1874: Cover from Corfu to Bürglen, Switzerland at 65 lepta rate, endorsed 'via Brindisi & Italie' carried by Austrian Ship via Brindisi at 65 lepta rate, franked by 1872/75 5 l. bright green on greenish, touched 20 l. deep blue and 40 l. salmon on blue all tied by 'Kerkyra' datestamps (April 3) with large PD alongside. Reverse with Brindisi, (Dec 17, gregorian) transit cds, Turin-Modane TPO. Geneva cds and Bürglen arrival cds (Dec 21) - carried at the 65 lepta rate applicable from January 1874 and in use for just 18 months. A rare rate and destination (Madame Chauvet records less than 15 covers to Switzerland in the classic period) and prepaid covers are rarities. Illustrated in 'Les Tarifs Helléniques' on page 198.
