    Part paid Mail from Romania to Greece 1872: Cover from Botosani to Athens, endorsed 'via Constantinople' at top, franked by 1869 50 b. indigo & red (Mi. 25b) cancelled by neat BOTOSANI cds (June 28) and framed PD in blue. Reverse with 'Itzkhany' transit cds (June 29) and thence through Austria rather than as endorsed, with Triest transit on reverse (July 1) and marked there with AFFRANCATURA / INSUFFICIENTE in black and 'Insuff. 17' (kreuzer amount, equivalent to 45 lepta) in blue manuscript and Greek '45' (lepta) in red crayon. Taxed on arrival in Athens with 1872/75 5 l. green and 40 l. deep mauve on blued paper tied by Athens cds's (June 28, julian). Flap torn but a remarkable and rare cover. Illustrated in 'Les Tarifs Helléniques' on page 184.
