    Mail from Great Britain via Italy 1868: Entire letter sent unpaid from London to Patras, Greece endorsed 'via Brindisi & Corfu' carried at double rate with London despatch (Sept 1) and thence via the Mont Cenis Railway to Turin and manuscript '40' centesemi credit noted on front in manuscript, franked on arrival with 1862/67 20 l. blue and 80 l.carmine (2) tied by 'Patras' cds's (Aug 23, julian). Blue manuscript crayon '180' (lepta) on front: 2 x 90 lepta for double rate. Reverse with Turin TPO cds, Brindisi cds, Kerkyra and Patras cds's. Adhesives with imperfections but a scarce usage.
