    Mail from Prussia via Austria and Austrian Lloyd 1861: Cover from Grossneuhausen, Grand Duchy Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, sent unpaid to Athens (addressed to the Prussian Minister, Baron de Werther), with manuscript '15/15' in blue ink on front (15 kr. to Trieste + 15 kr. Lloyd ship rate) underneath delightful franking of 1861 Paris printing 10 l. orange on blued, 20 l. blue on bluish and 80 l. carmine on rose all tied by dotted '1' numeral of Athens. Reverse with Weimar cds, Triest cds of transit (Nov 2) and Athens arrival cds (Oct 26, julian). Rated at 30 kr. = 90 lepta + 20 lepta internal charge. The adhesives with large to imperceptibly touched margins but a delightful and rare first issue franking in the first month of use and almost certainly the earliest recorded cover from the Austro-German Postal Union (GAPU) bearing the Greek first issue.
