    Underpaid Mail from France to Greece 1863: Cover addressed to 'Son Excellence, le Ministre de France à Athèns', franked by France 1862 20 c. blue pair, mailed at a Rural Box and tied by 4086 gros chiffres with Vallérysthal cds alongside (Nov 9), underpaid by 80 centimes and framed PD deleted and struck with framed AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT handstamp in black. Marseille transit cds on reverse and cover marked with '132' (lepta) in red manuscript - thus treated as unpaid and charged the full amount due with the prepaid 40 centimes not taken into account. Franked by 1861 2 l. yellow brown and 1862/67 10 l. orange on blued, 40 l. mauve on blued and 80 l. bright carmine all tied by Athens cds's (Nov 7, julian). A colourful and very rare cover. Illustrated in 'Les Tarifs Helléniques' on page 202.
