    1853: 10 c. bistre (3), 20 c. blue (2) and single 40 c. orange, margins large to just touched in places, all used on 1860 cover from Paris addressed to General de Jacobi, Member of the Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, Russia tied by 'D' in lozenge of dots in black. Framed 'PD' in red alongside and adhesives also tied by 'Aus Frankreich / Per Aachen' transit in red (Oct 10). Weiterfranko '3' sgr. credit to Prussia in blue manuscript and reverse with '6' sgr. credit to Russia. St. Petersburg arrival cds displaying well on flap (Oct 4/16). A most attractive three colour franking.
