    Russia 1853: 10 c. bistre, 20 c. bright blue and 40 c. orange (2), all with four margins but right hand 40 c. just touched at top right, used on 1856 single rate cover addressed from Paris to 'Le Comte Schouvaloff, Aide-de-Camp to His Majesty the Emperor of Russia' in St. Petersburg, all tied by 'K' in lozenge of dots in black with Paris despatch cds (June 17) below. Framed 'PD' in red and struck in transit with 'Aus Frankreich / Per Aachen' in red with weiterfranko '3' sgr. in blue manuscript on front. Reverse with '6' sgr. credit to Russia and Russian 'Received' datestamp. Re-addressed in cyrillic to Reval with boxed arrival on front without further charge. Some minor aging due to journey but a rare and most appealing cover.rnrn
