    USA 1849/50: Cérès 1 fr. carmine in a bright shade with close to large margins all round, used in combination with 1852 Présidence 10 c. bistre in a superb (and rare) horizontal strip of three with ample to large margins and portion of adjoining stamps at base; on 1853 entire letter from Paris to New York, tied by DS2 lozenge of dots in black. Paris cds at right (Oct 13) and red framed PD. Carried on Cunard Steamer 'Niagara' leaving Liverpool on October 15 with 'Boston Br. Pkt. / 5' datestamp of arrival on front (Oct 28).
