    Switzerland 1849: 20 c. black, a fine horizontal pair with large to clear margins all round, used on 1850 entire letter endorsed 'par Pontarlier' from Paris to Couvet, Switzerland, the pair tied by two strikes of the grill in black with 'Paris' despatch cds (March 4) at top and framed 'P.P.' in red at left.Reverse with Pontarlier cds (March 6) and Geneva arrival cds in red. File folds just clear of adhesives, a rare and attractive usage. Cert. Von der Weid (1999).
