    1870: USA 10 c. brown (two examples) used on 1873 cover endorsed 'pr Great Republic' (Pacific Mail Steamship Co.) from Yokohama endorsed to Lyon, France (Bolmida correspondence) tied by segmented cork handstamps in black with fine U.S.P.O. YOKOHAMA / JAPAN cds in black at left (Aug 6). Carried via San Francisco with cds on reverse (Aug 27) and London with 'Paid' cds in red of transit (Sept 15), the adhesives also tied by New York credit marking datestamp (6 c.) in red. Lyon arrival on reverse (Sept 16) in black. A delightful cover in excellent quality of great scarcity.
