    French Shipmail 1874 (May 10): Double rate Entire letter from Buenos Ayres to Aniane Hérault, endorsed "par Bordeaux", bearing Argentina 1867 Rivadavia 5 c. red (Scott 18), tied with a cds (May 19, 1874) in bluish black in a combination franking with France Siège 40 c. orange and Cérès 1872 80 c. rose (2), all four stamps with good perforation and tied by light Ancre lozenge. Front struck with Shipmail's octogonal datestamp "BUENOS-AYRES PAQ. FR. J N°3 10 MAI 1874" as well as framed PD in red. Reverse with Bordeaux Cette ambulant and Clermont-L'Herault transit and Aniane arrival (June 7, 1874) cds's. The sender had to pay 5 centavos for the inland part of the journey and twice 1 franc for the double rate mailing to France. A fresh entire with an attractive two country combination franking.     1 gr. carminio scuro, II tavola, in blocco di quattro più striscia di tre, tutti molto ben marginati, su lettera (incompleta al verso) per Messina, timbrati con "Annullato" in cartella con a lato il timbro rosso "Partenza da Napoli 5 gen 1861" e al verso timbro d'arrivo di Messina del 10 gennaio. Fu tassata in arrivo per 3 grana con timbro circolare rosso "Tassata per affrancatura insufficiente" perchè la tariffa per lettere di due fogli da Napoli a Messina, via piroscafi commerciali, era di 10 grana.     2 gr. carminio cupo, I tavola, su lettera scritta a S. Spirito, rione di Bari, il 8.10.1861, diretta Gioia di Colle, ma impostata a Giovinazzo il giorno 11 ottobre 1861. L'ufficiale postale, evidentemente di sentimenti molto italiani, annullò il bollo con le scritte "Abolito - Annullato - di niun valore" tassando la lettera per 3 grana, anche se i francobolli borbonici erano ancora validi fino al 21 novembre. Al verso bollo d'arrivo di Gioia del 12 ottobre. Una bella lettera di storia postale. Certificato Sorani (2005), Bioni (2005).
