    1734 (Aug 24): Entire letter from Valenciennes from Colonel Von Travers serving under Louis XV to Chur, endorsed at lower left "par Basle en Suisse" and struck with fine "VALENNE" handstamp in black. Various ink rates '13' and '29', with red crayon deleted rates of '26' and '32', with final charge '60' on reverse. Unusual and fine entire.

    1742/1828c.: Collection of covers, mostly entire letters (30) nearly all from Swiss soldiers serving with the French Army, with range of markings and cachets including 1808 entire with "Deuxième Regiment Suisse / Dépôt" oval from Besançon, 1822 prepaid cover from Nanterre, 1824 cover with "PP/Bau De La Cour" in red, prepaid covers from Brest, Orleans, Toulon, Versailles, taxed cover from Lucerne to Paris with most addressed to Switzerland.

    1789/1807: Covers/entires (7) most from the Revolutionary period, with fascinating entire just prior to the Revolution mentioning Necker and the King, most addressed to Fribourg, Switzerland with straight line despatch markings of Dijon, Havre, Marseille, Arras etc.

    1794 (Oct 9): Printed entire letter "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité ou La Mort" addressed from Paris to Belley with two line italic cachet "Com.on de l'org.on et du Mouv.t / des armées de Terre" in black, printed letter concerning Swiss Soldiers changed by writer to personal pronoun 'tu' throughout, and signed inside by handstamp. Faults and cleverly restored, scarce.

    1800 (April 24): Entire letter with illustrated letter-heading (William Tell and father) to Lausanne, signed by Samuel Turtaz of the Swiss Auxilary 3rd Demi-Brigade, struck with "67 / STRASBOURG" handstamp in black. A fresh and fine entire.

    1800/1812: Napoleonic period, covers and entire letters (15) from serving Swiss soldier in France during the Wars, mailed back to Lausanne with variety of markings, most with "24 / BESANCON" despatch, some with printed "De Christen, Capitane Commandant du 4eme Régiment Suisse" inside and thus with Regimental handstamps or seals on reverse, other markings include Landau, Huningue, "Regiment Suisse de Riaz" cachets in red etc., generally fine to very fine, with two late entires from 1826 and 1830.

    1802 (MAy 14): Printed entire letter from Ajaccio (Corsica) with 'La Justice et La Loi' insignia at top, from the 23rd Division Militaire in Corsica to Paris, with manuscript "Conseil de Guerre de la 3e. demi Brigade helvétique de ligne" at upper left and struck on front panel with fine "90 / AJACCIO" handstamp in black. Sealed tear across panel but rare.

    1825 (Sept 20): Death certificate, printed form from Nimes from Colonel Riaz to Aarau, with manuscript "Service Militaire" at top, red Military cachet at lower left "4th Regiment D'Infanterie De Ligne Suisse" and struck with superb two line dated "Genève" transit (Winkler 1642) in black. A fine and scarce cover.

    1829 (April 26): Entire letter from Captain Bazon of the Swiss Guards to Grandson, Vaud struck with superb strikes of framed "P.P.P.P." (Port Payé Par Paris) and two line "P.72.P./VERSAILLES"  in black; also an earlier 1823 (Jan 9) entire, also from a member of the 7th Regiment Hogguer, addressed to Soleure struck with same markings in red. An attractive pair.
