    Recess by Perkins Bacon 1859 (April 23): 9 d. purple-brown on white paper, wmk. Star, imperforate, the splendid unused example of fresh colour with good to large margins all round, of lovely appearance for this famous stamp; fresh and extremely fine, without gum.
