    1855/61: Sardinia imperforate 10 c. yellow-bistre 'bistro chiaro' from Plate II (two examples), 40 c. carmine-rose from the 1862 printing and Italy 1862 perforated orange-yellow all used on 1863 cover to Lima, Peru neatly tied by S. MARGARITA (RAPALLO) datestamps (May 11) in black. 'Italie / Lanslebourg' entry marking in red at right (May 13) and red unframed P.P. on front, reverse with Genova transit cds and Lima (Jun 18) arrival cds. The addressee's name has been partially restored otherwise an immaculate and beautiful mixed franking cover to an extraordinary destination. Signed Colla; Cert. Bottacchi (1999).

    1855: 5 c. emerald green, fine used horizontal pair with large margins all round, used in combination with fine 20 c. clear cobalt in a vertical pair on 1855 cover from Nice to Marseille, tied by NIZZA MARITIMA datestamps in black (Oct 9). Marseille arrival cds on reverse for the following day. The 20 c. pair with crease in right margin of no great importance, an attractive and rare cover. Cert. S. Sorani (1986), E. Diena (1987).
