    (Greece) Crete 1859: ½ d. orange, slightly oxidised and cut at right with 1 d. blue, cut a left, cancelled together with cross-type pen stroke, typical for Cephalonia with greenish "KEFALLINIA 1860 MARCH 23" ribbon oval datestamp alongside on outer letter sheet, sent to Lefkada with oval arrival datestamp on reverse (St. Maura 1860 March 28).     1862: Outer letter sheet from Syros to the Greek PO in Constantinople with "SYROS 17 July 62» despatch cds on front, endorsed «col vap Aus» and «KONSTANTINOPOLI TORKIA 10 July 1862» arrival cds on reverse, in addition Large Hermes Head 10 l. orange and 80 l. rose, both with large to broad margins on three sides, touched or with narrow margin at top, used as postage due and cancelled by dotted numeral mark «95» on arrival.

Red framed 'PD' at base and reverse with Kerkyra (Nov 28) and Triest cds. A few file folks including one which touches the 40 lepta.

    1892: Cover to Austria at 25 lepta rate, franked on front with Small Hermes imperforate 1 lepta brown: single, two pairs and a strip of five, and on reverse with a fine block of 15, the front cancelled by 'Piraeus' datestamps in black, the block on reverse all cancelled TRIESTE handstamps six times in black. A delightful and very unusual cover.

    1840/1888c.: Large Hermes Heads, the cover collection with 85 covers and a few fronts, incl. early incoming mail from France and GB to Syra, franked covers with Paris print 20 l. used in 1861 from Naphlion, 1864 three colour 110 lepta franking on cover from Messina, 1865 four colour 75 lepta frankings on covers from Trieste (2), 1866 and 1869 covers from Constantinople, 1867 four colour 132 lepta franking on cover from Paris, many 20 lepta internal frankings from a range of towns and villages; condition obviously variable but a fine and interesting collection, together with further off cover examples.
