    1873: Third edition of the manual 'Code de Telégraphie Chinoise' (T'een-piao hsin-shu) issued in Shanghai by Mr. S.A.Viguier, Inspecteur-divisionaire du Service des Ports, "servant à la transmission télégraphiques de dépèches écrites en Chinois, contenue tous les caractères usuellementes employés dans les correspondances officielles commerciales en particulières de la Chine", printed on the American Presbyterian Mission Press, Shanghai 1873. A rare guide for telegraphic transmission in Chinese, in good condition.

    1901: Enormous cover to the German Consul in Swatow, sent registered and franked by CIP 1900 2 c. deep red, 5 c. salmon and 10 c. deep green, the 2 c. and 5 c. tied by CANTON datestamps (June 6) and the 10 c. with unframed 'R' in black. Swatow arrival cds alongside (June 10). An extraordinary item, encased within a large embossed 'Republica de Chile' folder.

Scarce.
