    Russian Levant 1875 (Oct 23): Cover from Constantinople to Paris with fine mixed franking of ROPIT 1872 3 k. green, used with Russia 1866/75 3 k. black & green and 10 k. blue & brown all tied by CONSTANTINOPLE datestamp (Tchilinghirian fig. 12) in bright blue with repeated strike above.Odessa transit cds (Oct 27) in black at right and thence via Erquelines (Nov 13) to Paris. Some edge wear to envelope and one perf. folded at top of 3 kopek, but a rare and most attractive mixed franking. Cert. BPB (2000).

    1884 (June): Russian Levant 1872 5 kop. blue and 1879 1 kop. black & yellow (2), tied by oval 'R.O.P.iT. - Konstantinopol' datestamp in black to cover via Odessa to Hannover, disinfected by rastel punches and slitted on all four sides, transit and arrival mark and blue Odessa carantine mark on reverse. Late fumigation in the 1880s.
    Provenance: Constantinople collection, Corinphila sale (December 2007), lot 7309.

    1865/1910: Lot hundreds used/unused stamps incl. ROPiT 1865 issue 10 pa. & 2 pia. with blue dotted mark and pen cancellation, both with opinion Stolow (1953), 1866/68 issues 10 pa. with shifted blue background, Russian Levant 1876/79 issues 8/10 k. and "thick" 7/10 k. ovpts in blue and black (3), in addition some Russia in China.
