    1859: 5 c. violet blue, 10 c. red-brown and 20 c. bright blue, the magnificent usage of the three values on December 1859 cover to Ambalena, with Bogota sender's cachet in red at upper left (Mauricio Rizo) and the adhesives, all extremely fine, tied by oval framed "Bogotá" handstamps in black. A wonderful cover with manuscript docketing of receipt inside "Diciembre 19, 1859". One of only two recorded covers bearing three values of the first issue, illustrated in Bortfeldt "Colombia Philatelic Handbook and Catalogue, 1859-1868" on page 11. This famous and exceptional cover has graced many of the finest collections ever formed of this classic country and is a great rarity of classic and South American philately. Cert. Calves (2008).

    1863: 50 c. red on white wove paper (error of colour, from stone of the 20 c. value), a superb used example in a deep rich shade with large margins all round, Type 1 with "5" and "0" of "50" joined, minute thinning, neatly cancelled by oval framed "Bogota" handstamp in black.     1864: 10 c. blue, a superb appearing four margined example used on 1865 cover to Paris, the adhesive with pre-application scissor cut at top which is barely noticeable, tied by oval BOGOTA oval handstamp in black. British P.O. SANTA MARTHA cds in black on reverse and London transit cds in red (Jan 30) alongside. Framed Accountancy marking applied there in black and cover forwarded on to Paris, where charged '10' decimes in black. Despite the fault, a charming and very rare usage. Signed Calves. Cert.     1902: Stationery envelope 10 c. with add. franking Arms definitives 1 c. claret, 2 c. green (pair) and 5 c. green imperf., cancelled by Correos Nacionales datestamp (Sep 1) with registration stamp 20 c. red-brown on blue paper alongside, presumably dispatched in Bogota with commercial cachet on reverse, Barranquilla transit cds in violet (Oct 4) on front, sent to Kaluga Russia with arrival cds (Oct. 14 Julian calendar) on reverse. Fine destination.

    1883: 10 c. orange on yellow used on 1886 registered cover to Canada via New York, with 1883 UPU 10 c. red on yellow registration label on reverse (marginal) from Bogotá via New York (Jan 25) to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Sensibly opened for exhibit display, an attractive cover.

    1920/21: Lot with 15 selectd SCADTA stamps used (14) and unused (1), incl. two vertical pairs,  one being Scott C37 showing one of the stamps with inverted overprint of the value '30 cents'  and one block of four of the 50 c  pale green, each stamp showing red handstruck  of 'Mejia', a nice lot on two album pages.
